2K Recruits Apex Legends Producer to Boost Struggling Hero Shooter Project Ethos
The renowned publisher has secured a seasoned producer from Respawn Entertainment to direct the studio crew at their internal studio, which is currently working on the anticipated over-the-shoulder roguelike extraction-shooter known as Project Ethos.
Leadership Shift Comes After Mixed Feedback
The new appointee takes on the role of studio head at 31st Union following the exit of former leader the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was reportedly let go due to the game's lackluster unveiling last autumn.
On Wednesday, 2K president a key figure informed employees about this organizational change through an official communication, which stressed that playtesting had revealed the need for a clearer game identity.
The president stated that the team is now overhauling Project Ethos with a renewed approach, aiming to satisfy gamer demands.
A Pattern of Key Hires
This announcement echoes a similar move taken by 2K Games in August, when they hired Rod Fergusson from the Diablo team to assist with the BioShock studio Cloud Chamber.
